Venezia ⟷ Burano - Connections to reach Burano from Venice

Burano, an ancient center of the Venice Lagoon, is famous for its brightly colored houses and for being the home of the Lace Museum.



Navigation lines for Burano

You can go to Burano with the ACTV vaporetto lines.
The ACTV public water transport service in Venice and Mestre makes connections to every destination in the historic center of Venice and to the islands of the lagoon by water-buses of various cabotage.

The Island of Burano can be reached from Venice by vaporetto with 2 ACTV daytime vaporetto lines and the NLN night line. Then there are other lines that include a stop in Murano and the change with line 12 towards Burano.
Line 12 leaves from Fondamente Nove - as does the NLN night line - while line 14 leaves from San Marco.

From Piazzale Roma and the railway there is no direct line and you have to take the fast and direct line 3 for Murano, get off at the Murano Faro stop, and here change to line 12 for Burano.
Alternatively, you have to reach Fondamente Nove with line 4.2 or line 5.2. Arriving at Fondamente Nove you go to Burano with line 12 during the day and the NLN line at night.

From Piazza San Marco to Burano you go with 1 direct ACTV daytime vaporetto line to Burano, line 14.

In the evening you go to Fondamente Nove with line 5.2 until 11.16 pm (line 4.2 stops departures from P.le Roma and only operates Fondamente Nove → Murano) and then line 12 or NLN line for Burano.

At night you have to walk to Fondamente Nove and take the NLN night line.

Arriving by plane at Marco Polo Airport

Arriving by plane at Marco Polo Airport to get to Burano, you can reach from the Airport Murano with the Blue Line and the Red Line (seasonal) of the Alilaguna service and then change to line 12 or the night line NLN of the Actv vaporetto.
Alternatively you can reach Piazzale Roma in Venice by bus and then reach the Fondamente Nove or Murano and change to Burano on the Actv vaporetto.
At night Burano can only be reached from Fondamente Nove with the NLN night line.

Arriving to Venice by bus

Arriving by bus in Piazzale Roma you must reach Murano or Fondamente Nove with Line 3 (in Murano) or Line 4.2 (Fondamente Nove or Murano) and then change to Line 12 which stops both in Murano and Fondamente Nove).

Arriving to Venice by car

Arriving by car in Venice, park on Tronchetto Island or in Piazzale Roma. In the first case, you must reach Piazzale Roma with the People Mover shuttle. Then you have to reach Murano or Fondamente Nove with Line 3 or Line 4.2 and then change to Line 12.

Arriving by train in Venice

Arriving by train at the Santa Lucia Station you must reach Murano or Fondamente Nove with Line 3 or Line 4.2 and then change to Line 12.
At night you have to reach Fondamente Nove and take the NLN night line.

Arriving by ship in Venice

Arriving by ship at the Maritime Station, you can reach Murano directly from the Terminal with the Blue Line or the Red Line (seasonal from April to November) of the Alilaguna service. And then get to Burano with Line 12.
Alternatively, you can reach Piazzale Roma with the People Mover shuttle. Then Murano or Fondamente Nove with Line 3 or Line 4.2 and then change to Line 12 for Burano.

Vaporetto lines to get to Burano from other areas of Venice

– If you are close to Piazza San Marco the quickest solution is the direct vaporetto line 14 Venice ⟷ Burano.
– If you are at Lido the quickest solution is the direct vaporetto line 14 Venice ⟷ Burano.
– If you are at Fondamente Nove there is a line that goes to Burano: line 12.
– At night you go to Burano only from Fondamente Nove with the NLN night line.

You can choose the ticket valid for 75 minutes, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 7 days. Once bought, pick it up at the ticket office in Piazzale Roma (car and bus terminal) from 7.00 to 19.30.

- Show your smartphone voucher and collect a paper ticket at the Venezia Unica ticket office in Piazzale Roma; alternatively, enter the voucher number at any Venezia Unica self-service ticket machine.

- The validity of your tickets begins at the time of validation and ends at the same time (not at the end of the day)

Departures from Treporti at 00.13, 00.38, 1.18, 1.48, 2.48, 3.42, 3.48.
Departures from Burano at 00.25, 00.50, 1.33, 2.00, 3.00, 3.30, 3.54, 4.00. Stops on request in Vignole, Torcello. Only the 3.30am vaporetto from Burano arrives at Tronchetto.
