Burano, an ancient center of the Venice Lagoon, is famous for its lace making and the polychromy of its houses: a tradition perhaps born as a reaction to the humid and misty climate, rich in fogs that characterize these lagoon places.
You can go to the Island of Burano with the Actv vaporetto lines, the public water and land transport service in Venice, which makes connections to every destination in the historic center of Venice and the islands of the lagoon by means of various waterbuses. There is no direct line but you have to reach Fondamente Nove or Murano and change for Burano.
