Piazzale Roma (Bus Terminal) → Torcello - Connections to reach Torcello from Piazzale Roma in Venice

Torcello was a residential center as early as the 5th / 7th century. following the invasions first of the Huns and then of the Lombards. The fugitives from the city of Altino found refuge there. The name of the island probably derives from TURRICELLUM (the tower erected in memory of that of the lost homeland).

Arriving by car or bus in Venice, from Piazzale Roma you can reach Torcello by vaporetto with 2 ACTV daytime vaporetto lines and the NLN night line.

However from Piazzale Roma there is no direct line and you have to take the fast and direct line 3 for Murano (until 6.10 pm), get off at the Murano Faro stop, and here change to line 12 for Burano and finally Line 9 to Torcello.
Alternatively, you have to reach Fondamente Nove with line 4.2 (until 8.56 pm) or line 5.2 (until 11.16 pm). Arriving at Fondamente Nove you go to Burano with line 12 and finally Line 9 to Torcello.

Important: Line 12 until 9.18 am and after 6.18 pm directly stops in Torcello.

In the evening you go to Fondamente Nove with line 5.2 until 11.16 pm (line 4.2 stops departures from P.le Roma at 9 pm and only runs Murano → Fondamente Nove) and then line 12 or NLN line for Torcello.

At night you have to walk to Fondamente Nove and take the NLN night line.

Duration of the trip Piazzale Roma → Torcello

– Line 3 to Murano Faro in 24 min + Line 12 to Burano in 30 min + Line 9 to Torcello in 5 min.
– Line 4.2 to Fondamente Nove in 27 min + Line 12 to Burano in 43 min + Line 9 to Torcello in 5 min.
– Line NLN from Fondamente Nove to Torcello in 36 min (only stops on request).

From Piazzale Roma there is no direct line and you have to take the fast and direct line 3 for Murano, get off at the Murano Faro stop, and here change to line 12 for Burano. Finally Line 9 to Torcello.
Alternatively, you have to reach Fondamente Nove with line 4.2 or line 5.2. Then to Burano with line 12 and to Torcello with Line 9 during the day and the NLN line at night (stops only on request):

Departures from Treporti at 00.13, 00.38, 1.18, 1.48, 2.48, 3.42, 3.48.
Departures from Burano at 00.25, 00.50, 1.33, 2.00, 3.00, 3.30, 3.54, 4.00. Stops on request in Vignole, Torcello. Only the 3.30am vaporetto from Burano arrives at Tronchetto.
