The Venice Film Festival enlivens the city of Venice every year; starting from the Lido, its historical location and always at the center of the rich program of events, the energy of the Film Festival spreads throughout the city of Venice reaching, for some years, also the Terraferma di Mestre.
The Venice Film Festival is promoted by the Biennale and its director is Alberto Barbera. The mission of the Venice festival has always been the diffusion of world cinema that presents itself with a rich billboard that hosts productions representing numerous nations of the planet.
The official selection of films scheduled at the 81st Venice Film Festival includes the sections Venezia 76 (In Competition), Fuori Concorso, Orizzonti, Venezia Classici, Sconfini and Controcampo Italyno, to which are added the retrospective and two autonomous sections.

Venezia 76
International competition of feature films in world premiere. There 21 movies admitted to the competition of 2019:

Venezia Classici
The section presents from 2012 a selection of the best classic film restorations made in the last year by productions, film libraries and cultural institutions from all over the world at the International Film Festival. In addition, the Venice Classics section presents a selection of documentaries on cinema and its authors.

7° Final Cut in Venice
Workshop to support the post-production of films made by African countries and by Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.
It takes place from August 31st to September 2nd and sees the first two days dedicated to screenings and the last to meetings between producers and accredited buyers such as producers, distributors, production companies and festival programmers. 6 jobs have been selected:
