Event from September 7th to 15th 2019

Great interest for the international festival dedicated to glass art scheduled from 9 to 16 September 2018: extended to 30 April the deadline to send the application for membership to the second edition.

The most important novelty of the 2018 edition is the presence of a Scientific Committee: from this year, in fact, all requests for participation will be evaluated and selected by a team of experts in the glass sector at international level, including curators, historians, critics and scholars. The scientific committee for the 2018 edition is chaired by the historian of Venetian glass Rosa Barovier Mentasti and composed by the critics and curators Chiara Bertola and Jean Blanchaert, by the journalist Uta Klotz, director of the German magazine Neues Glas and by the chemist Marco Verit, an experienced university professor in the composition of glass materials.

Defined by the newspaper La Stampa "a unique opportunity to learn everything there is to learn about artist glass" (Rocco Moliterni, 16 September 2017) and the Financial Times a recipe to save from decline "this enchanting and arcane manufacture "(Rachel Spence, 23 September 2017), the international festival dedicated to glassmaking, with particular attention to Murano, The Venice Glass Week, is conceived and promoted by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts and Consorzio Promovetro Murano together with the City of Venice.

All information on the second edition of The Venice Glass Week is available on the official website www.theveniceglassweek.com, and on social profiles: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
