Press Release Syrian Arab Republic Pavilion
The creations of Syrian plastic artists are known to be rich in experience, plurality
of influences, addresses and made up of a plethora of techniques and subjects. Art has always been
represented the key to shaping society, encouraging love, hope and
providing an opportunity for rebirth. The forms and content of the artists' works
Syrian contemporaries participating in the Syrian Arab Republic Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2022, as expected, reflect all of these important goals.
Five of them, therefore, come from a fascinating land with a very ancient civilization
advanced for the time, a land of innovation capable of including a sculpture dating back
at the eighth millennium BC, they exhibit - on the occasion of this important event
international with art - examples of their works after a devastating period of war
lasted a decade. Indeed, they have been among the hardest hit by its harsh repercussions.
However, this has not prevented them from clinging to life, from remaining united with their beloved homeland.
They held out, continuing to profess their creativity and embracing the noble
mission to spread a culture of life, beauty and freedom of expression. Although they have different visions of reality and the universe around them, shaped by their respective ones
experiences; each of them has a distinctive style, a particular technique, a philosophy, points of view and attitudes towards the events that animate and reflect each other
creatively with a minimum common denominator in the works exhibited in the Pavilion.
All openly united by passion, humanity and deep love for their country,
as well as by the common Cultural Identity and by an ineluctable destiny they share
with great dignity, Saousan Alzubi, Ismaiel Nasra, Adnan Hamideh, Omran Younis,
Aksam Tallaa have long been firmly established on the national art scene as well
Arab, already boasting numerous participations in international events. Together with the invited international artists - Giuseppe Amadio, Lorenzo Puglisi, Marcello
Lo Giudice, Hannu Palosuo, Franco Mazzucchelli - honor the 59th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia bringing with them a message of love and peace
from Syria, a land of civilization and brotherhood, with a strong and complex cultural heritage deeply rooted in history.
