Press Release of Guatemala Pavilion of 58° Venice Biennale of Art

The Guatemala pavilion, entitled Interesting State, places women and the delicate issue of gender abuses at the center of the exhibition, particularly felt in modern Guatemalan society, still characterized by a great imbalance between the position of man and woman in their access to fundamental rights such as work and safety.

The title in particular plays on the English phrase that refers to pregnancy by relating it to the interesting social situation that marks modern Guatemala with strong machist traits.
