This
fascinating and elegant villa from the 30’s,
is situated on the splendid island of Lido, which
already from the Belle Epoque period (Beautiful or golden times)
was considered one of the most elegant and tranquil Italian areas.
It boasts beautiful beaches, characteristic canals,
elegant Liberty villas, flowering gardens
and natural reservations, like in the island of Alberoni. This
island is a place of peace and nature and is only a short distance
away from the crowded and bustling historical centre of Venice.
With this in mind, a decision was taken to begin extended restoration
works, based on some
of the principles of bio-architecture and Feng
Shui, to offer guests a “natural and ecological”
atmosphere. Non toxic materials were used: cork
to insulate the roof, anti-toxic paint on the walls, wax and oil
to polish the old, wooden flooring, wooden beams and old windows.
In every room, the electricity has also been disjoined to protect
against electromagnetic waves, assuring a sound and healthy sleep.
Furthermore, to conserve an important resource, such as water,
the showers have a reduction power capacity and we leave it up
to our guests to decide when they need a change of towels. Our
rich breakfast, served in the flowering
garden during the summer months, offers a good selection
of biological and genuine products, whilst the
products available in our bathrooms, contain only natural ingredients.
The furniture in all bedrooms does not contain formaldehyde, which
is very dangerous to our respiratory channels. We hope that guests
will understand if we ask them not to smoke inside the Villa.
Lastly, but not less important, we’ve also been inspired
by some of the old philosophies of Feng Shui, which literally
means in Chinese WIND AND WATER. The view of the lake with lilies,
small waterfalls and multi-coloured fish, will make this an even
more pleasurable and relaxing stay.
