Following
the description given by the Corporation of the S.S. Apostles,
written in 1713, and the result of a decision
by the Senate on 29th August 1711; in the narrow walkway of Acquavita,
close to the Jesuit quarters, there was a “bottega d’acquivata,”
(shop where distillation took place) run by Elia Giannazzi, who
paid rent to Monsignor Marco Gradenigo, Patriarch of Aquileia.
The Locanda Acquavita offers an opportunity to breathe
in 16th Century Venice, by lodging in an old Venetian
accommodation, recently renovated. The locanda is only five minutes
walk from the famous Rialto Bridge, situated
in the centre of this City on the Lagoon, but at the same time,
situated in a small, narrow walkway away from the touristic bustle,
and facing onto a romantic canal, therefore guaranteeing
a peaceful atmosphere to its guests. The locanda
has been furnished with comfort and quality, keeping in mind the
needs of a refined and elegant clientele: all rooms have air-conditioning,
satellite TV, security safe and canal view. The Locanda Acquavita
is a short distance away from the embarkation point, allowing
travel to the islands of Murano, Sant’Erasmo
and Burano, or the beaches of Lido di Venezia.
The Staff of the locanda, will remain at your disposition for
any needs that may arise during your stay in Venice.
