Completely
renovated during 2002/2003, the Hotel Ca’ Formenta is situated
at the beginning of Via Garibaldi, beating heart
of Venetian life. The origins of the building probably date back
to the 1400’s, after the arrival of the
Formenti Family from the Island of Poveglia to the Island of Venice;
added to the original citizen records as cited by Tassini in his
<<Curiosità Veneziane>> which also attributes
a <<Cancellier Grande della Serenissima>> (a Grand
Chancellor in the Serenissima Government), to his family tree,
around 1580; the building was original adorned with a coat of
arms with three ears of wheat, symbol of the Formenti Family and
still utilized today as the logo of our House.
Every room has individual Summer/Winter climate control, colour
television with satellite reception, telephone
with direct line and the possibility of connection to
a personal computer, minibar, safe, hairdryer; a lift
has been installed for ease in getting to your room; all communal
areas have air-conditioning; some rooms enjoy
a privileged view over the lagoon. The Hotel also has a private
embarkation point on the Rio della Tana, to give an convenient
and comfortable arrival by Motorboat Taxi. The splendid internal
courtyard is ideal for enjoying a refreshing drink at
