S. MARIA MATER DOMINI - Sestiere of Santa Croce -

Facade has been built with Istria's Stone (a black marble) and shows an evident Tuscan influence so that is plausible the story that wants Jacopo Sansovino to be the last architect who finished the church (1540).
Interior has a greek cross plan and rich altars with works of the Venetian Renaissance: L'ultima cena (Last Dinner) young work by Bonifacio Pitati, L'invenzione della croce by Jacopo Tintoretto.
Tiepolo is instead tha author of the drawing for the tapestry Madonna col Putto.
