S.
ANDREA APOSTOLO -
Sestiere
of Santa Croce, XV sec.
-
Founded
at the same time of the adjacent monastery in the 1329, S. Andrea della
Zidara's Church suffered many restorations so that only the facade remains
of its original Gothic aspect.
Interior has just one nave with a flat ceiling and keeps a precious
Gothic choir and some frescoes of the seventeenth century.
Soon the visitor will appreciate the painting Cristo morto fra San
Carlo Borromeo e angeli by Domenico Tintoretto. The church keeps
even two important altar-pieces: Sant'Agostino e due angeli by
Paris Bordon and San Gerolamo by Veronese.
