CHURCH OF SAN LAZZARO DEI MENDICANTI - Sestiere of Castello

Church has been built between the 1601 and 1631 following the project by architect Scamozzi, based on a classical inspiration as was common in that age.
Plan has a unic nave with a presbitery. In the interior there're paintings by Veronese, Porta and the most important among all: S.Orsola e le undicimila Vergini by Jacopo Tintoretto.
A funeral monument and a statue commemorates the Doge Alvise Mocenigo whom fought against Turks defending the Serenissima.
