CHURCH OF SAN GIOVANNI NOVO - Sestiere of Castello, X sec. -

San Giovanni Novo was founded in the tenth century but completely rebuilt in the 1762 by architect Matteo Lucchesi.
It's possible to make out from the picture that the facade has been left unfinished, leaving exposed to the sunlight a wall of bricks.
Building has one nave with a vaulted ceiling held up by Corinthian colums. Sideways are placed two chapels each side, and the presbitery closing the architectural elements of the church.
It's possible to admire a wooden crucifix and the painting Sacrificio di Melchisedec e di Abramo by Fabio Canal.
