CHURCH OF SANTA MADDALENA - Sestiere of Canaregio -

Built on a project by Tommaso Temanza, is one of the few churches in Venice having a hexagonal plan, on which rests a big semicircular dome with a lantern.
Six chapels, corresponding to the six sides, keep precious paintings of the seventeenth century; many of them came from Piazzetta's school, as L'Apparizione della Vergine a San Simone Stock by Giuseppe Angeli or Il sacrificio d'Isacco, placed over the main door.
